Track record
We advise on this because we run it.
PATH4DEV did not begin as a consultancy looking for a sector. It began as operators who kept being asked the same questions by everyone else building in the same conditions.
The ventures below are owned and directed by our team. They are the reason the advice holds up: every path we consult on is one we are still walking ourselves — in construction camps, in reservation systems, in the back of house at six in the morning.
Client project case studies are published only with permission. Where a client prefers discretion, we say nothing at all.
Lodge group
Hammerstein Africa Lodges
Owned and directed by Saar Porteus · Operations and marketing led by Karel Swanepoel
A working lodge group, run by the people who built it. Everything PATH4DEV advises on in Paths 3 and 4 — reservations, front and back of house, housekeeping, procurement, staff development, the daily workflow that decides whether a guest returns — is practised here every day, not theorised.
PATH 3PATH 4
Infrastructure & build
Hammerstein Construction
Owned and directed by Saar Porteus
The build arm behind the beds. Physical infrastructure planning, construction and fabrication in remote African conditions — where the nearest supplier is a day away and the design has to survive the site, not the render. This is where PATH 2 experience comes from.
PATH 2
Regional venture
ZHAV Angola
Saar Porteus — Key Member
Pan-African in practice, not only in name. Operating across borders means understanding that a concept which works in one market has to be re-argued in the next: different regulation, different logistics, different guest.
PATH 1PATH 2
Brand & design studio
PicSapien Illustration and Design
Owned and directed by Karel Swanepoel
The studio behind the look and feel. Brand concept, positioning, application and conservation — including the identity you are reading right now. Branding is treated as an asset to be maintained, not a logo to be delivered and forgotten.
